Cabal Council meeting Monday August 4 at 7 pm:
Started on time all present except, according to Bob Everding, the Town Attorney would be absent with no backup available. Big problem Bob, the town of Ruston does not have a Town Attorney. A Town Attorney would be appointed by the Mayor but the former Mayor Transue was not a loyal cabal so the four cabal council persons hired a Special Legal Counsel beholden to the cabal council. Trouble brewing for sure with this petty go around.
Anyway, they picked Dan Albertson's neighbor as Special Legal Counsel, David Britton. Throughout the whole proceedings there were constant references to the phantom Town Attorney. This anomaly was pointed out to them in General Public Comments but the use of Town Attorney was still favored over the very real live but absent Special Legal Counsel.
Item 1- Interlocal Agreement between Town of Ruston and City of Tacoma was put off as a resolution after Wayne Stebner was worried about future liabilities. It was then pointed out this was a pressing matter and the City of Tacoma had approved it three months ago. Way to hang in there Wayne but memory pills are advised or a brain transplant.
Item 2- Ordinance 1241 National Flood Insurance Program (first reading) will be brought back next meeting.
Item 3- Engineer Selection The Mayor and Jim Hedrick after looking at 7-8 qualified applicants agreed on one candidate and a contract will be prepared.
Item 4- Musical Festival Permits postponed again at the insistence of Wayne Stebner that formerly free permits would be fifteen dollars to help cover costs even though it was pointed out processing would cost more than permits would bring in. There was also a flap over whether the Town should purchase doggy bags.
Items 5 and 6- were very contentious causing a serious split in the cabal dividing into pro Ruston and Anti-Ruston factions.
Item 5 - Amendment to Stack Hill Plat was added by Bradley Huson much to the consternation of Albertson and Everding.
Item 6- Resolution no. 429 - Stack Hill Final Plat.
Bradley has had enough with the approaching three year stall on STACK HILL. After the ranting and raving of Dan Albertson about betrayal and the warnings of dire consequences by Bob Everding both passed 3 to 2. With Huson, Hunt and Hedrick voting affirmative and Albertson, Stebner voting no.
Mayor Everding then announced he would not sign the Plat approval until the return of the cabal council Special Legal Counsel whom he continues to refer to as the Town Attorney. It is apparent David Britton takes orders from Dan Albertson so stay tuned. There will be a Special continued meeting when Britton returns from vacation.
The cabal uproar over the Stack Hill approval was so hypocritical and full of outrageous lies I will report in the next blog. Selective memory seems to be a common malady among the Tacoma cabal gang.
FROM THE FRONT ROW to be continued.
