Wednesday continued meeting Ruston Planning Commission 7pm:
STAFF REPORT TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION POINT RUSTON MASTER DEVELOPMENT PLAN
Vote was 4-0 Brian Ficala absent to send staff report as corrected to the Ruston Town Council for final approval.
Colett Judd, Cherrie Andersen and Charles Raines were very constructive in their questioning and basically looking out for the general public as to access to promenade and Yacht Club road.
Particular attention was given at this session to public comments and representing all viewpoints and providing a voice for all concerned citizens.
Kevin Moser did an outstanding job as chairman making sure all voices were heard and was very impressive in his knowledge and patience hearing all sides.
Our new Town Planer Rob White was equally impressive both in presentation and in knowledge of the development and was very quick to call up on his computer any information to resolve technical questions. Rob is definitely a winner and Ruston was very fortunate to contract for his services.
The Point Ruston team led by Gary Pedersen, Mike Cohen and J.J. McCamment was quick to respond to all questions and explain the difficulties of simultaneous dealings with Ruston, Tacoma, Metro Parks and the EPA. Gary's knowledge of the projects as chief Engineer was encyclopedic.
Congratulations to all and for those who followed this for the last twenty years it was a great night and satisfactory to all.
With Chambers Creek golf course and the US Amateur and the US Open golf tounaments coming to this area Ruston will be shown to the world as an incredible example of what a small town can do when working together turning a Superfund site into a modern twenty first century metropolis.
