The Ruston Council will have blood on their hands if they disband the Ruston Fire Department. It would only be a matter of time until someone is seriously hurt or killed waiting for help. If they had followed council member Stebner when he tried to contract with Tacoma Fire, they already would have caused one death. The shooting victim on Halloween did not have the extra 3 to 8 minutes to wait for Tacoma Fire to arrive.
Tacoma has a great fire department that does an excellent job for the vast area they cover. But we have it even better here. The council should not be pursuing a contract that will bring such grievous harm to the citizens they are supposed to represent.
